30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 29&30

Happy Friday and the last day of November! OMG where has the time gone?!! I’m not against setting up Christmas decorations in November, but I guess it’s now officially okay to start decorating :]

Yay for my last 30 day challenge post :]

Day 29 – A picture of something you want to do before you die.
One of the things on my short bucket list is to play catch with Derek Jeter.

He’s my favorite athlete. I’ll admit, I first gravitated to him because he was hot...back in 1998. Hahaha. The softball player in me recognized his talent and his skill is what has pretty much kept me as a fan. His looks have certainly faded…in my opinion, but I still love the guy!

Day 30 - A photo of yourself today & three good things that have happened in the past.

Blah. I look so gross today. I woke up feeling sick so I slept until the last possible minute I could before I had to leave for work. As a result, I kind of look disheveled today. Can I use pictures from this last weekend? I look better in those. Hahaha.

3 good things that have happened in the past…recent past or over the course of my entire life? Hmm. Let’s stick with recent past.

-My grandfather and his family from Mexico are now permanently in the United States.

-My grandma and my aunt's visas [from Colombia] were approved [aunt for the first time!] and will be in the United States this winter.

-My brother’s term with the Army is done and he’ll be home for good on Wednesday!

I’d consider all of these 3 things important because although my family is pretty large, between the distance and drama…we don’t all talk. This is the first time I’ll be surrounded by so much family here in the United States.

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 27&28

GOOD MORNING :] I slept 13 hours last night! Not sure what I’ve done to warrant such exhaustion…but that sleep was definitely needed. It came with some weird dreams, like me forgetting my birthday and friends surprising me by putting posters all over town, and a huge “steal the bacon” [remember that game?!!!] challenge that took place in a lake. Hahaha.

In other news, I can officially say it’s winter! I’m wearing my uggs [they’re technically emu’s…can we think of a different collective name for these kinds of boots?] today for the first time since last winter!

Due to my long siesta yesterday, I didn’t post so today’s is a two-fer!

Day 27 – A photo of someone you could never imagine your life without.

Let’s get real cheeeeeeseball here. My parents are obviously the people I could never imagine my life without. My father was born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico and my mother was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. They both came to the country when they were young. They met at a cantina in Escondido called La Tapatia [which still exists!] and I guess you could say the rest is history!

Without them, I might not love sports as much as I do. Without them I might not have the crazy family that I do, yet still love. Without them I might have not have ever lived in my lovely hometown of Valley Center. Without them I might not be getting my college education. Without them I may not have been born and raised in San Diego.

My parents have always put my brother and I first on their priority list and I owe them so much for that.

Day 28 – Your hopes, dreams, plans for the next 365 days.

-Graduate CSUSM with a Bachelor’s Degree.

-Drop weight!

-Have money saved up for my baseball road trip!

-Move out.

-Decide what I want in a career.

-Get closer to becoming financially secure by managing my money!

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 25&26

Welp. 4 day weekend is over, time to head back to school and work. I think it’s about that time to stress over school…2 WEEKS LEFT! Actually I’m only stressing about one class [US History] because I’m done with the other three [Linguistics, Woman’s Studies, and New Documentary.] History has always been my worst subject and I’m scared I'm not going to pass the class! Ugh. I’m hoping that since I don’t have to worry about my other classes, I’ll put all my extra time and effort into this class. Nothing like last minute heroics!

I didn’t blog yesterday because it would have been boring and picture-less so I’ll include it with today’s blog :]

Day 25 – Your worst habit.

I fidget. A lot. I tap my feet, thumbs, pens, pencils, etc.

I also play with my hair. The reason that sucks is because my hair gets oily after running my hands through it so many times and then doesn’t look cute.

Day 26 – A photo of where you live.

I live in the country of opportunity, the United States of America.

I live in the state of California.

[This was the "art" I was inspired to make after my talent post last week. Newspaper article background [with only positive, happy articles that relate to me and my interests :] of course from the LA times since I'm in LOVE with that city] and then used black acrylic paint to draw and color in the state!

I live in county of San Diego.

[Taken from the Omni, my hotel for my birthday baseball weekend back in September in downtown San Diego]

I live in the city of Escondido.

I’m one of those people that absolutely loves where she lives. San Diego is such an amazing city and I try my best to not take it for granted.

I’m not religious, so I hesitate to use the word blessing, but aside from my family and friends, one of my greatest blessings was to be born and reside in such a beautiful place. I couldn't ever imagine what my life would be like if I was born somewhere else.

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 24

Day 24 – A recipe.

I seriously suck in the kitchen. I can pretty much cook cereal, quesadillas, and grilled cheese. My culinary experience has expanded since Pinterest, but not so much... here's some stuff I've made from my food board and highly recommend!

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 23

Day 23 – A photo of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

Blah. I've been holding off on this post because in the grand scheme of things, my life is actually pretty monotonous. Work 3 days a week, school 2 days a week, softball Monday nights, and weekends off.

I haven't made any HUGE decisions lately, and probably won't happen until I graduate school May 2013.

ANYWAYSSSS...

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! As crazy as life is, it's always great to slow down, even it it's just for a day and chill out with the family. but now it's BLACK FRIDAY! I slept in until 11:30 am and didn't leave the house until 2:00 pm to get my shopping started! I didn't NEED anything, but still hit the shops.

I actually did NEED a new purse and wallet. Mine were a couple of years old and the material was starting to flake...gotta love good ol' Roxy! haha.

I also hit up Toys-R-Us...that place was CRAZY crowded! My cousin is pregnant and her baby shower is in a week so I needed to stock up on a gift.

She wasn't registered anywhere but her mom told me a wipe warmer was necessary. Done. and I added the huggies new born little snuggler gift set which is full of diapers, wipes, and other child related stuff.

A family friend I've known since I was like 3 years old [documented on home video] is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. DIRTY 30! I'm pretty sure she's a little obsessed with monkeys so I got her this beanie...

And since alcohol will be consumed.... a silly straw :]

and last but not least...
VODKA SOAKED GUMMY BEARS.

AND MY FAVORITE PURCHASE...

Peppermint Bark <3

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 22

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I am thankful for so many things this year, including my amazing family who has gone through so much this year, hilarious friends, great job, a roof over my head in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, food to eat, my education, and an able body. I hope everyone has a great holiday!

Day 22 – A photo of your wedding/future wedding plans.

First of all, I want a vintage looking engagement. Friends, please show my future husband this photo.

And this is pretty much the wedding dress my heart is set on. So simple but beautiful.

I want to have a country-ish wedding and OBVIOUSLY incorporate some baseball.

I am so in love with these save the date tickets!

and these super cute wedding cake toppers

and this home plate guest book idea!

I've already come to terms that I will be a bridezilla since I'm usually a -zilla with everything else that I plan. I'm sorry for all of you that will be involved with the planning that will have to deal with me.

I think most of all, I just want it to be fun.

One thing that absolutely MUST happen is the "Payaso del Rodeo". It's a Mexican line dance, and absolutely my favorite thing to do at parties :]

30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 21

THANKSGIVING EVE! YAY!

In other news, yesterday's post inspired me! I went to the craft store and got some paint & paint brushes for a project I want to do this Thanksgiving break :] Stay tuned!

Day 21 – A hobby of yours.

Do I even have to say it? Baseball.

I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. I remember falling asleep at Qualcomm as a kid when the Padres played there. Things have changed over time and although I love the San Diego Padres, considering they're my hometown team, the New York Yankees are my favorite team, and have been for the last 14 years. My love for baseball has grown so much that as of the 2012 season, I became a season ticket holder for the Padres! [Which I renewed for 2013!]

The view from our seats

Which many would think isn't so great, but I love them. Especially because this is the view to our left...

We got so many souvenirs because of our close proximity to the players! At the end of the season, I think I had like 6 baseballs in my bedroom!

We also got to do cool stuff like movie nights at the stadium and brunch on the field on Sunday mornings :]

I guess I'd consider it a hobby since I put so much time and effort into planning stuff related to baseball like our AWOF trips. My best friends and I head up to Anahiem every year when the Yankees are in town and spend the weekend up there watching the games! It takes a lot of coordinating between booking hotels, finding train tickets, affordable ball game tickets, and buying food and drinks but completely worth it!

This is one of my favorite pictures ever!

That's Chelsea & I under A-Rod's elbow :]

We scored dugout seats one time!

HOW MANY DAYS UNTIL SPRING TRAINING?!!
