Weekend Update: All Sorts Of Blah

Mondayyyy. You have arrived. Meh. This weekend had so much potential, but ended up being a little lackluster.

Thursday: Yep, we’re starting with Thursday. I worked all day and then headed to a Relay For Life meeting. This will be my 3rd year doing it, and it’s crazy how big the event has grown in our little town. 1st year was 2011 and we had like 5 teams, 2nd year totally blew up and we had like 18 teams or something AND raised like $40,000 for the American Cancer Society. The event is still 2 weeks away and according to the website, we have 20 teams and have about $39,000+ raised. Super cool! My team captain is my best friend’s mom so I got to the meeting a little early and raided her fridge like the good old days. We talked about what is gonna happen at the relay and what our team has planned…should be an awesome event.

This walk is for the AmericanCancer Society , an organization that raises money to fight ALL cancer. The Relay For Life is a 24 hr walk where teams participate and each team must have at least 1 person walking at all times. Ideally, there should be 20 people walking the course at any given time. Even at 3:00 am! I've kind of sucked at raising money, so I’m pitching it to my readers :] If you've got an extra $5, $10, $20, or even $100…throw it my way! It will be greatly appreciated!

Friday: Remember how I was super excited for Tim? He kind of did not impress. We left town a little late, encountered traffic, missed our exit, more traffic, tailgate, strongggg honey jack & coke, found an InCahoots group that brings speakers and line dances in the tailgate lot before the show, completely missed Love & Theft, caught Brantley Gilbert’s last 2 songs, searched through the masses for friends, didn't find them, and mostly chilled through Tim's set. My problem with Tim was he played a lot of new music I didn't know. I guess that’s my own fault for not being a true fan. Loved the last 20 minutes of his set which was where he played everything I knew! Chilled in the parking lot and waited for traffic to die down, saw a chick dance on the roof of a car and secretly wished she fell…no luck. Mexican food. Sleep.
Chelsea with the photobomb.

Let's take a second to appreciate the growth of my hair! Left is 2 summers ago (I think?),
baby piggy tails, right was at Tim Friday night.

Saturday: Worked in the morning, 3.5 hour nap, unpacked my bedroom stuff, hung art I've collected in the last year, caught up on SYTYCD, sleeeeeeep.
Yankees Stadium
Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate autographed lyric posters.
1 more off the 100 things to do before you die list! #33.
Sunday: Did laundry & ran errands with my mom. Purchased bedroom curtains. Bought cinder blocks to put on the corners of my bed frame to raise it. Got the idea from pinterest! I bought the wrong size, had to make another trip to HD and buy the right size which raised my bed about 10 inches. Now I’m kind of scared I’ll fall off! Pictures soon once my room is completely done!

Wasn't a boring weekend, but nothing too exciting.

PBR & ROC Race

1st blog as a college graduate. Whaaaat?!! Actually, that’s kind of a lie considering I’m not completely done for the semester. I did walk at commencement this last Saturday, but because  I am split between 2 schools, I’m done with everything at Cal State San Marcos, but still have 2 papers to write and 1 final to take this week for Palomar College. Hopefully I have everything done by Wednesday! Because I've been so focused on school & graduation I’ve kind of been a sucky blogger…so let’s play catch-up!

2 weekends ago I went to the PBR (professional bull riding) with my dad. I probably should have stayed home and done homework…but whatevs. I love me some country music and cowboys, but these bull riders were a different sort of hotness. I was in love. And decided if I don’t marry a ball player, I want a bull rider.

Last weekend I did the ROC (ridiculous obstacle course) Race. Some friends and I signed up in like March and the 2 months it took to get here seemed life for.evvvvv.errrrrr. It was a 5k with 16 obstacles throughout the 3.1 miles. Once of my favorite t.v. shows ever is wipeout and the ROC Race was as close as I would ever get to being on the show. Check out the pics!

Our team!
Caroline and I, before and after.
Funny story about the shoe donation...I wasn't planning on donating my shoes, because they're the only ones I had but when I walked over with Caroline to drop hers off, I caved into peer pressure and left mine as well. This last Friday [2 weeks after the race] I got dressed to run graduation errands, and looked high and low for my running shoes for 15 minutes...until I remembered that I had donated them. Oops!
This race was SO much fun. Definitely worth the $60 we paid. Here’s a list of the obstacles. Not sure what my favorites were though. I did learn that I’m completely out of shape and pretty much could only run a mile of the course. Walked most of it. Blah. There’s another race happening up in Orange County, I think we might sign up! Definitely check it out if it comes to a city near you!!!
